Emily Baird

As a sailing coach I am responsible for the creation and execution of short-term and long-term lesson plans which meet national standards. I teach and interact with athletes of a variety of ages and skill levels and tailor my programs and lessons to meet the learning styles, skill levels, and areas of interests of my students.

The Peer Assisted Study Session program at the University of Calgary offers student support for challenging classes. In my role as a PASS leader, I was responsible for running academic support sessions for students in introductory Linguistics classes. I acted as a facilitator to guide students in developing their own understanding of class concepts, study skills, and time management. I worked with members of the University faculty to develop my own material in line with the broader class curriculum.
