Carl S Byington

An experienced engineer, entrepreneur, and business owner with a wealth of experience in the field of mechanical and aeronautical engineering, Carl Byington is the President of PHM Design, LLC in Atlanta, GA since 2017. The company provides engineering and consulting services to aid in the design of prognostics and health management (PHM) data analytics and the development of condition-based maintenance (CBM+) processes for aircraft and other high value assets. Carl Byington formerly lived and worked in New York, where he served six years as the CBM+ technical lead at Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary company of Lockheed Martin. Prior to its successful acquisition, he was also an owner and Director of Systems Engineering of Impact Technologies, LLC. In earlier work, Carl led technology development efforts in undersea vehicles at Penn State Applied Research Lab in State College, PA and hypersonic propulsion at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.
