In 2001, BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, Germany, 3-months relocation in the group Amphiphilic Systems, a group based in Ludwigshafen and Düsseldorf. Active on several projects in 2011 specific to the group. Extension and new projects currently running in Basel. (Developping products suitable for applications such as laundry detergents, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, oil production, petrol additives. Structurally: polyalkoxylates or ionic polymer systems.)

Lab Head New Technologies, Research&Technology, Plastic Additives. Project management for key R&D projects with international teams including researchers, application experts, marketing, product managers. Reality checks at customer.

Process owner of the global Technical Service for Customers. Co-responsible for the Hot Line Service (EAME, Europe Africa Middle East). Project leader for component and package development projects. Commercialization of a normal grade hydraulic package in a mutual project with the customer. Customer seminars und customer visits. Technical Training of the sales force.

Development of a family of spacer fluids. Collaboration with University and Business partners. (Rheology, Suspension, Surfactants). Development of a shear-sensitive fluid as a treatment for lost circulation of drilling fluids in formation fissures. Field trips, customer seminars, lectures, demonstration, publications. (Multiple Emulsions, Encapsulation, Gels, Rheology).

Feasibility study on new Reservoir Drilling Fluids producing smart filter cakes with completion compatibility and enhanced production. (Filtercakes, coating of Particles, Formulating). Development of an anti-stickance additive for preventing differential stuck pipe incidents. (Lubricants)

Feasibility study for a new generation of retarders for the thickening of cement slurries. Synthesis and evaluation of new Dispersants. Factorial plans; Modification of Polymers.

Activation of CC and CH bonds by cationic transition metals. (Isotopic labelling of alcanes, mass spectroscopy FTICR, GC/MS)

Fellowship from the MPI-CNRS-Foundation. Design of layered polymeric nanocomposites at solid interfaces. Publication. (X-rays reflectivity, UV/VIS, IR, XPS).
