Guna Srinivasa Rajendra

Worked at the Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO) as an intern for 6 months during my last semester. My main project was to design and analyze the airborne interface frame structure of radar active electronics for fighter planes. My focus was to design and optimize the part that holds the Radome of the fighter jet. I had figured out the most suitable material to use, which had to be light and strong. Run different tests on simulation to achieve the required results.

I got exposure to the entire assembly process at Volvo Buses. I mainly worked under the quality control division. As part of the internship I also had the opportunity to work with different administrative departments to understand the working. I worked on the wheel alignment of the buses during the trial run, checked for faults in moving parts and performed noise tests inside the bus. I also did checks for water leakage at the openings and finally checked for under chassis errors and paint thickness.

Worked with the design and research team on developing the latest hydraulics system and ran tests on them. Also performed trial runs on their other prototype products. I also had the opportunity to work with different part production units and understand their processes. This helped me analyze how they can improve their efficiency.

During my masters I took a combination of engineering and management subjects. Some of the courses I took are Design Thinking, Industry 4.0, Project Management, Marketing, Finance, Management cost accounting. We had case studies of real life problems integrated into our courses to help prep us for the workplace. Completed my master dissertation on the impacts of plastic pollution, it’s scale and carried out an investigation on the ways to reduce plastic pollution by using sustainable methods.
