  Worked with the team which set the world record optical fiber transmission capacity (2.15 Pb/s). Developed a computer-controlled system to exploit time and frequency-varying crosstalk in optical fibers using DSP. Led the project after expert supervisor left to work in the US. Managed stakeholder’s interests, negotiated partnerships. Hands-on experience with RF and optical equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers. Member of Photonic Network System Laboratory in Tokyo.
