    System Validation Engineer

    Type tests for traction systems A new train is being introduced and will soon enter service with the end client. The train-level type tests must be planned, executed and documented to identify and correct the possible discrepencies with the functional specifications. In the validation team I am in charge of the traction system. This project is also used to introduce in Alstom a new way to trace the tests from the functional requirements to the tests reports using the management tool DOORS.

    Development of new train traction systems and support for the in-service fleets New products are developped from the Coradia Continental product family. The existing traction systems must be adapted to the specific functional and performance requirements of the new client and then validated and certified by the authorities. I am part of the traction system team on train level. The Coradia Nordic trains, used in Sweden, are a related train that is already in service. This fleet must also be supported.

    Software Validation Engineer

    New traction software versions for the TGVs are being developped and need to be validated and certified. This is done using the train electronics first with a digital simulator before final testing and certification on train. Objectives of this mission: - Planification, execution and reporting of the tests - Redaction of documentation for the authorities - Support of the tests on train Mission interrupted for 5 months between 09.2012 and 05.2013. I handed over the ongoing tasks to another consultant.

    System Simulation Engineer

    New simulator in a validation test bench The train traction control system is validated by plugging the actual equipments to a simulator that reproduces the characteristics of the real train. The old simulator is no longer supported and must be replaced. Objectives of this mission: - Coding of a new software for the new simulator - Specification of the electrical interfaces - Writing of the documentation to ensure long term usability - Validation of the simulator compared to the real train

    The TBM is a single engined, turbine propelled aircraft seating six people. The electrical power generation was being changed from one based on a 200A/28V starter generator to a 300A/28V. A new control systems was being developped by an american supplier and I was part of the team in charge of the integration in the aircraft and the following certification.

    End of study internship

    Development and roll-out of project performance forecast tools and process: The KPIs used in Alstom Power gas-turbine projects measure the past performance. The aim of this internship was to use the same input data to estimate the impact of projects planning changes (re-scheduling, budget changes) on the KPI at a later date. The 6 sigma process was applied to this project.
