🍒🥑We all eat and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly. Therefore my research focuses on food safety. 🔬My master thesis was my first deep dive into research focusing on traceback of foodborne diseases. This has sparked my interest in digging deeper and expanding my knowledge in this field. For the PhD time, my overarching research aim is to support the development of an decision support software for outbreak investigations with novel and efficient algorithms. In case an outbreak is detected, the system shall provide a shortlist of most suspicious food products and thus help investigators to narrow the list of suspect food items. Consequently, the investigation can be accelerated and measures can be taken at an earlier stage and further proliferation of the illness prevented.
