I am interested in making money while improving the planet. When I hitch-hiked across Africa years ago from Tangier to Mombassa (incl. across Algerian Sahara) I was able to save hundreds of lives by providing basic medical care -- especially disinfecting wounds; I taught creative writing to delinquent boys while I was at Cornell

and produced concerts (Janis Joplin

Jefferson Airplane) to raise money for charity. I helped the nuclear power industry manage catastrophic losses; I helped 30 of the Fortune 50 make more efficient use of their resources and helped them better manage their risks. I continue to help healthcare organizations improve their quality of care

and have a talent for helping them to quickly cut through the incredible complexity that confronts them. I would like to join with others at major healthcare consulting practices to help fix the healthcare system in the US -- which is severely broken. It has great people and some terrific attributes

but we need a new paradigm to get more from the $2 trillion we are spending.
