Seit der Kommunalwahl 2020 in Nordrhein-Westfalen bin ich Ratsmitglied der Kreisstadt Unna. Der Aufsichtsratsvorsitz bei der WBU ist ein Wahlmandat. Since the communal elections in Nordrhein-Westfalen in 2020, I am a member of the city council. The WBU Board Chair is elected from the city council members.

My position sits with the Shell Group´s reporting team, responsible for external ESG/non-financial parameters reporting. I work with internal reporting, strategy and finance to contribute to the production of the Group´s annual report. I engage externally with NGOs, industry associations, think tanks and reporting standard setters, contributing to the further development of reporting regulation and guidance.

Based on my operational and corporate management experience, I supported Shell UK´s offshore and onshore operations with expertise on implementation and maintenance of their management system. I advised contract managers with HSSE expertise, risks assessments, and interface documents. I supported Shell´s HSSE competence assurance scheme for critical leaders, was a focal point for records management and maintenance of the internal businesses HSSE webpage.

Provision of HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, Environment) expertise for Shell´s Rhine Supply (Germany, BeNeLux, France) operations and the management team. It also included responsibility for the Management System, and respective training for the team. I participated in meetings and conferences with partners/suppliers for rail, shipping and pipeline operations, and facilitated incident investigations. As part of a European and global Supply team it included liaising to share best practise and experiences.

Set up as temporary assignment for 6 months, I supported the QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security, Environment) department in Shell Italy/Milan with expertise in management specifically in aspects regarding the management system, analysis of "learning from incidents", training in a new Permit-to-Work system, and auditing of hauliers in Italy and Slovinia.

As the Terminal Manager of the Refinery Supplied Terminal of the Refinery Hamburg, I managed a team of 13 staff. The Terminal moved a volume of approx. 4.5mln cbm p.a., 50% via road, 50% via ship and rail, opening hours 24/7. Close cooperation with the refinery, supply contracting and central operations departments. Responsibility for hazardous goods and transport regulations.

In this position I was the expert on soil & groundwater remediation projects in Germany. I was the contract holder for consultancy service contracts and recycling/disposal contracts, represented the company in negotiations with environmental authorities and other parties; I worked closely with internal departments such as tax, legal, finance. On the environmental side, I led the integration of retail acquisition projects. Cooperation with Shell colleagues in Europe on environmental matters.

In this position I was responsible for a region with about 120 retail service stations, managing all matters regarding planning, contruction, maintenance through the coordination of external engineering facilitators and other consultants. Included was responsibility for HSSE compliance on construction sites.
