    Intern/Master thesis student

    Evraz Oregon Steel Mills

Investigation of high-temperature oxidation processes on coiling drums in rolling mill and related deterioration of drum and product surfaces. This involved study of high-temperature oxidation of stainless steels, the change in microstructure and scale buildup. Experiments were carried out with coated and uncoated samples, mimicking industrial scale conditions. Both treated and salvaged samples from drum and products were analyzed with state-of-the-art surface-analytical equipment.
