Acute myeloid leukemia - mechanisms of relapse and drug resistance development

I am involved in the identification of potential predictive biomarkers of radiotherapy outcomes in cancer patients. In addition to my research projects, I supervise two PhD students, I am responsible for project development and grant writing, and I have managerial duties in the laboratory.

I have been involved in preclinical development of anti-cancer therapeutics. My other duties included conference participation, writing and publishing scientific articles and abstracts.

I was awarded European Association for Cancer Research Travel Fellowship, for conducting a study I have designed, with the aim of developing an improved way of delivery of anticancer therapeutics, focusing primarily on the investigation of the potential for oral delivery of the analyzed compounds, which would alleviate some of the adverse effects connected to the IV delivery of these therapeutics.

I was invited for an internship in one of top Swiss institutes, in order to perform a study using molecular cloning techniques, transfection, and RNA interference to investigate the role of tumor suppressors in lung cancer development, progression, and metastasis.
