One of Europe's leading providers of leveraged finance for mid-market, private equity backed transactions. With a leveraged loan portfolio in excess of €5bn across over 160 companies, CFB provides financing solutions for MBOs, acquisitions, growth funding and recaps. - Focus on originating transactions in Germany, involved in managing German portfolio accounts.

Underwriting of new and management of existing Private Equity investments (Share Capital, Shareholder Loan Notes, Real Estate) from a Risk perspective. This includes writing Early Read Memos, Investment Committee approval pitches, financial modeling, due diligence, structuring, legal and documentation. Managing/co-managing a >€300m portfolio of Private Equity investments with two of them having undergone major restructuring resulting in follow-on investments of c€25m.

Underwriting and closing senior debt transactions including all aspects of risk analysis consisting of cash flow modelling, rating calculations, returns analysis, industry research, legal negotiations, credit agreement documentation and preparing and presenting credit requests. Overall 7-month secondment to leveraged finance portfolio management team (04-08/2008 and 03-04/2009) where I effectively managed a €300m portfolio of debt transactions, mainly in the food & beverage sector.

Trainee programme comprising four 6-month rotations: GE Money Bank, Austria – Financial Planning & Analysis (Vienna); GE Employers Reinsurance Corporation - Specialty Controllership, Global Aviation (Munich); GE Corporate Financial Services, Europe - Financial Planning & Analysis (London); GE Corporate Financial Services, Europe – Equity Group (London). Training included: LBO Modelling, Financial Foundations, Operations & Controls, Strategy, Green Belt / Six Sigma and Foundations of Leadership.

Topic of my thesis: “Critical factors for success in negotiations about Private Equity investments – an empirical study considering the preferences of Private Equity companies and target companies with a focus on the German Mittelstand.”

After interning in the bank's Controlling department for 3 months, I participated in a training programme for banking, sales and call centre management and subsequently moved to the bank's front end; in the context of customer care took credit decisions and performed money transfers on a daily basis; acquired new customers by providing individual advice and dispatching of information kits.
