Studied Arctic landfast sea ice, in particular adding tensile strength to current sea-ice rheologies. To compare modeling results to data. Compiled a landfast sea-ice climatology of the Arctic Ocean. Field work on icebreakers in the Beaufort Sea, Arctic Ocean (17 weeks total).

Specialization in environmental physics and aquatic systems. Masters thesis on mathematical modeling of geochemical processes in a river near Zurich. Internship in Kathmandu Nepal on small-scale, low-cost water storage for irrigation.
