I am a professor of Comparative Politics, specializing in the study of political regimes, esp. in the former Soviet Union. I have also worked on the politics of energy transitions as well as on environmental crime. My research has taken me to various places, including the Social Science Research Centre Berlin, Ecologic Institute Berlin, and the University of Oslo.
