Filipe Galiforni Silva

My career purpose is to use my knowledge and experience to help those interested in coastal science. Nothing inspires me as much as helping people with my expertise, and I am always looking for opportunities. Since 2010, I have been working on different projects involving coastal dynamics. Topics such as nearshore oceanography, sediment transport, coastal geomorphology and coastal morphodynamics are at the core of all questions my colleagues and I have been answering so far. All projects gave me a solid experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, Surfer), field surveys, numerical computing environment/programming tools (MATLAB/Python), diagramming tools (LaTeX, MS Office) and numerical models in coastal areas (Delft3D, MIKE 21, XBeach). I also had the opportunity to mentor several young professionals during their BSc. and MSc. studies, which is particularly inspiring. It has been a very rewarding career full of international experiences, challenging projects and amazing colleagues.
