DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF NOVEL FOCUSING STRUCTURES FOR RELATIVISTIC ELECTRONS - Designed the focusing structures in Autodesk Inventor. - Did electromagnetic simulations of the structure using Lumerical’s FDTD solver. - Improved and optimised the deflection results by simulating the particle’s propagation path using a self written particle tracking code in Matlab. - Build a mathematical model to describe the deflection results - Handling external partners on production of the structure

CODE BASED AUTOMATIC FAILURE DETECTION OF SILICON PARTICLE DETECTOR CHIPS FOR CERN’S CMS AND ATLAS EXPERIMENT - Wrote an R-script that gets the data for the specific lots from the databases and tests it on specific failure boundaries. - Set it up to run the script automatically on predefined periodic times. - Set it up to send a status report to the person in charge each time the script it used

THERMAL SIMULATIONS OF MEMS MICROPHONE PACKAGES - modelled the package in LTSpice and Cadence - determined the optimal thermal shielding to reduce the unwanted thermoacoustical effect

OPTICAL SIMULATIONS OF NOVEL MEMS SENSORS - parametrised optimisation of the reflections to increase Signal to Noise ratio - parametrised optimisation of difraction grating to determine the optimal position for photodiodes

PROGRAMMING OF MICROCONTROLLERS AND DATA VISUALISATION VIA ANDROID APP - Calibrated the operational amplifiers’ comparator voltage to cancel background noise. - Gathered data of the operational amplifiers periodically and average the data timewise. - Transferred data via Bluetooth to an Android App to visualise the data. - Presenting the prototype to potential customers

PROGRAMMING OF MICROCONTROLLERS - Programmed a microcontroller’s digital to analog converter to send sine waves of different frequencies over an RC element, which was susceptible to environmental changes. - Gathered the data and used Fourier transformation to get the properties of the RC element. - Calibrated it using these properties to appropriately react to the environmental changes. - Supervision of a student project on microcontrollers
