The project involved molecular dynamics modeling, molecular biology approaches (targeted mutagenesis), enzymatic activity tests, structure determination with Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) and protein X-ray crystallography.

  Biochemical and structural characterization of the Peroxisomal membrane translocon components. The research, conducted at the EMBL facility at DESY campus, involved recombinant production of perozisomal soluble and membrane bound proteins and their truncates alone and in complexes followed by biochemical and structural characterisation with SAXS, X-ray crystallography, DLS, SLS, ITC, IEF, and Western blot.

  In this project, a novel idea was tested and developed for a crystallization method of membrane proteins. Methods: membrane protein clonning and crystallization, chemical vapour deposition, carbon nanotubes production, Xray crystallography and Electron Microscopy.
