Making contribution to several dimensions of the company’s life. As a research scientist I am responsible for in vitro diagnostic tests (IVD) and automation process development, which enable high-throughput screening of blood donations for human pathogens – to ensure blood donation safety. Engineer automation processes applying Tecan liquid handlers and peripheral devices for fully automated sample processing and result analysis. Maintain instrumentation, support application, products and system components.

  • 2 Jahre und 3 Monate, Aug. 2008 - Okt. 2010

    Research Fellow

Research Center for Infectious Diseases, University of Würzburg

Studied bacterium-host interactions during deliberate human bladder colonization. Analyzed bacterial genomes with shotgun + NGS sequencing. Assessed transcriptome and proteome with microarray and 2-D gel techniques. Discovered adaptive bacterial evolution patterns driven by individual host environments. Described bacterial adaptations and effects of the innate host response on the colonizing bacteria. Showed: regulation of the antigen exposure is an important strategy in establishment of host colonization.

  • 4 Jahre, Sep. 2004 - Aug. 2008

    Doctoral Student

Research Center for Infectious Diseases, University of Würzburg

My primary area of research was the investigation of the pathogenicity and virulence factors of Extraintestinal Pathogenic E. coli (EPEC). I described for the first time the molecular basis and evolution of the asymptomatic EPEC isolates. I learned, established and used numerous molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and immunology techniques.
