Über mich
My ambition is to contribute to the innovative and efficient use of materials in future products. I am passionate about modelling and computer simulations for development purposes. My current focus lies on the potential of timber as a structural material in multi-storey buildings. As a person, I embrace straightforwardness and honesty, I enjoy speaking in front of groups and acting on my own initiative. I quickly adapt to new environments and situations. In every successfully mastered challenge, and in every failure, I see chances to learn and advance.

Berufserfahrung von Johannes A. J. Huber
Bis heute 2 Jahre und 8 Monate, seit Okt. 2021
Postdoctoral Researcher
Luleå University of Technology
Development of simulation models of virtual boards from CT-scanned logs to predict strength before sawing. Writing funding applications for future projects. Teaching and supervision of MSc students.
5 Jahre und 3 Monate, Aug. 2016 - Okt. 2021
PhD Student
Luleå University of Technology
Development of 3D finite element models of wood and timber in two fields: i) simulation of collapse in subsystems of multi-storey timber buildings, ii) 3D reconstruction of sawn timber from X-ray CT images to predict strength. Teaching in mechanics and strength of materials.
1 Jahr und 11 Monate, Sep. 2014 - Juli 2016
Development Engineer
BENTELER Engineering
Developed Benteler Automotive's hot-formed boron steel parts for the BiW of the new Volvo V90/S90, XC60 and XC40 models. The assignment included a 6-month stay at Benteler's head office in Germany where I was trained in product development and project management. I also led the pre-development of a light-weight brake pedal in aluminium together with Benteler Automotive in Denmark.
