Part of the CGI NEXT IoT and Advanced Analytics Group, I worked as a consultant data scientist and expert in computer vision, focussing on artificial intelligence. I also worked in depth with the Azure cloud and had experience developing SQL databases.

Working as part of the programming team on x-ray equipment for laundry applications. This role currently focuses on research and development of the artificial intelligence used to identify objects within clothing. This role involved extensive use of both the Caffe and, more recently, Tensorflow convolutional neural network frameworks for image recognition.

Taught Maths and English on a part-time basis to classes of children in addition to their normal school hours. Maths was taught to children up to GCSE level (from 4-16 years old) and English to 11+ (from 4-10 years old).

Working both as part of a team and independently to present concepts in physics to students between the ages of 10 and 18 in both classroom and university settings and promoting participation and interest in physics to those of all ages.

I worked as part of a team providing high quality first aid to members of the public in London. This included both high-pressure events such as the Notting Hill Carnival and family-orientated events such as the Hyde Park Concerts and Premiership football matches. First aid skills include: Oxygen Administration, Entonox Administration, Airways, CPR (both with and without oxygen and/or AED), Fracture Management, Scene Management, Manual Blood Pressure Measurement and Standard Medical Observations.

Predominantly a marketing role, the aim of this position was to advertise to students an IoP event about careers in teaching. A number of different approaches were taken, utilising facebook, twitter, lecture shout-outs, posters and face-to-face discussion. As the sole person working on this, the target number of students attending was exceeded by 50%.

Working within the Maths and Physics outreach team at QMUL, this was a very wide-ranging role including writing an introductory C++ tutorial for GCSE-level students; conducting and filming an interview; designing, researching and sending to production a business card, and liaising with both internal and external contacts to organise outreach events.

Working with public bikes in Central London, this job had two main parts. The first, cycling to bikes marked faulty, performing an assessment of their condition, either fixing or recalling them on a case-by-case basis and reporting back to HQ. The second was customer-orientated, explaining use of the bicycles and the fee system and resolving any problems. This was key in the National Bike week, where Barclays bikes saw a huge customer swell and both customer and mechanical problems increased significantly.

Working with the Dark Matter Group of Royal Holloway, UoL for 8 weeks through SEPnet. In this internship I investigated the optical properties of a test stand which will be used to make measurements of the Rayleigh scattering length of liquid Argon. These measurements are intended for use in the analysis of data from the DEAP3600 dark matter detector at SNOLAB.
