Adaptation of existing project planning, assessment, monitoring, evaluation and reporting system to a more regionalized structure and towards increased impact orientation. Introduction of revised tools and procedures at headquarters and field level.

Project coordinator/team leader for German Agro Action/Welthungerhilfe projects in Haiti. Interventions focused on agricultural/rural development, irrigation and food security, natural resources management, climate change adaption, disaster risk reduction and insitituion building at the local level. Advisory services and close cooperation with municipalities and deconcentrated ministry departments.

Adviser for strategy, country program and project development, planning, implementation and impact monitoring for the Sudan Regional Office. Donor coordination and development of project proposals (incl. budgets) and co-financing arrangements in the LRRD context. Quality assurance concerning headquarter and donor rules, regulations and standards. Capacity building for internal staff and partner organizations (project management, monitoring).

11/09 – to date – Coordinator of expert assignments in decentralization/good governance and health related programs (GIZ). Responsible for programming, preparation, coordination and evaluation of long-term advisory and capacity building assignments. Through program's coordination team provision of technical advice on studies, training and consulting interventions, focusing on decentralization, local government, community development and public-private dialogue. Liaison & reporting functions.

Advisory to national counterpart IRSEM (Instituto de Reintegração Socio-Profissional dos Ex-militares – Institute for Socio-Professional Reintegration of Former Combatants). Project manager for: capacity building for municipal administrations for improved basic services, revision of municipal development plans, vocational training and agricultural cooperatives.

Advisor to the Rector on organisational development issues regarding the universities research and service centers, coordinator of the “Center for Geographic Information” (CIG), project manager of institution-building and scientific cooperation project for CIG. Coordination of training, research, project support, mapping and information systems services; project proposals and supervision of MSc students of the economic faculty; coordination of the introduction of a GIS post-graduate course.

Systematic evaluations and impact assessments of EU research projects of the SMT - standards, measurements and testing program. Evaluation of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness and socio-economic impacts of projects managed by consortia of leading universities and governmental and private research institutions.

Preparation of tenders and project proposals; recruitment and coordination of consultants and project staff. Responsible for implementation of training, research, and consulting projects. Member of company´s management team and technical advisor to the training unit and at company level for HR issues. Organizational development and export marketing studies for “Egypt Crafts Center (ECC)” and implementation of proposed measures.

Management of human resources and technical cooperation sub-programmes of UNDP Egypt. Promotion, networking, liaison, planning and reporting functions; recruitment and placement of experts, personnel and project management responsibilities for rural development projects. Responsible for south-south training and capacity building program “TCDC – Technical Cooperation between Developing Countries”.

Operational and technical field office support for a variety of small and large scale institution building and SME support projects. Organisation and implementation of project support services (logistics, procurement, studies, training, promotion programs) and back-stopping of expert interventions.

Development economics, organization, human resources and marketing
