Marina Krauze Thomaz

CubeSat Victoria is the first University of Porto nano-satellite to detect illegal fishing activity in high seas. I am the leader of the Mechanical and Structures team and my responsibilities include the design and analysis of the structural model of the 1U CubeSat using the SAP2000 FEM software.

Design and analysis of steel and mixed structures (steel and concrete) using an FEM software (SAP2000) and Microsoft Excel. This includes the analysis and detailing of screwed connections. Completed successfully the following structural models: an assembly line, solar covers, a footbridge and a transmission tower (analysis only).

Plan and teach private classes to high school and college students reinforcing topics of physics, mathematics, calculus and analytical geometry covered on regular classes.

Research activities on "E-Waste projects, strategies and public services and relation with strategic digital city". *Nominated for a Brazilian National Award in Scientific and Technological Initiation (contest in course) by a national committee and the Catholic University of Parana.

Teaching assistant in the field of Sanitary Engineering.

Assisted in the creation of a proprietary software platform to predict the optimal placement of new electric power substations and wind farms or expansion of existing ones.

Elaboration of Civil Engineering projects for electric power substations. My responsibilities included the design, detailing and evaluation as well as cost management for projects in several areas of expertise, such as hydraulics, earthworks, foundations, drainage, and architecture. Gained experience with Hydros, Eberick, ArchiCAD and AutoCAD Software. Devised budget and cost plans using Microsoft Excel.

Exchange program – Master’s Degree studies in Civil Engineering.
