In 2007 applied for the 2008 tax credit application round and was awarded the 9% tax credit thru a very competitive process for the maximum of 80 unit Family project in the city of Mineral wells. In these financial uncertainty and meltdown, the tax credits had been successfully syndicated and a construction loan secured, thereby enabling construction to start.

Was the pioneer in the State of Texas for the retail concept of selling every item in the store for a fixed price of 99 cents. The first store was opened in San Antonio Texas and eventually over time the chain successfully grew to 21 stores from San Antonio going as far west as El Paso and going north to Chicago. It was in this retail environment that in 1993 I was nominated and awarded the Minority Retail Firm of the Year for the Dallas/ Ft worth Region by the US Department of Commerce.
