Combined (see below) traineeships in forestry and wood-technology (1997) at UPM-Kymmene Metsä, Enso-Gutzeit (today Stora Enso), Metsäliitto and Etelä-Savon Metsäkeskus (a regional forest authority) – covering all relevant forestry, industry, logistics and transportation, management/panning, inventory and legal issues in Finland;

Trainee at the forestry enterprise Merkenstein (1996), with a focus on forestry, that is forest management, forest protection/entomology, tree nursery/establishment of Abies spp. test plantations, hunting, utilization/technology, round-wood logistics and sales.
