Worked as part of a team building microservices and data pipelines in Go, migrating away from a large PHP monolith. Built scalable applications that ran in Docker containers on AWS. These applications consisted of RESTful APIs, and multiple services for data processing and forwarding. I created any cloud services required for a given feature using Terraform. Transitioned from my test role into the backend development team. Here, I built RESTful API's in PHP and Node.js. Working within the web product team, I built a UI test automation framework and wrote tests to cover key user flows such as registration, login and payment. We were then able to gain confidence that we had not caused regressions when releasing new features. Separately, I also built an API test framework that sent requests to busuu's public endpoints and validated the response structure against a defined JSON schema. Worked as part of a scrum team that was rebuilding the M&S.com product pages in AngularJS to be responsive in design. My role responsibilities included sourcing tools to build and maintain test frameworks that operated at numerous levels of the test pyramid, and to ensure that we had the correct automated tests, at the correct level. Technologies: Node.js, Angular, Protractor, Mocha, Chai, Chai-as-promised, Gulp.

Played a key role in developing frameworks, tools, dashboards and CI templates for other teams across M&S.com to use. The core test automation team’s remit was to move the department away from 100% manual regression testing. I built and maintained front and backend test frameworks (Java) through individual work and pair-programming, to drive the adoption of test automation within front-end & middleware teams. - Responsible for the testing of the company’s in-store customer facing digital products, including self service transactional kiosks and staff-assisted transactional iPads. - Led the test team in planning, execution, defect triages, risk management, reporting and incident management. Provided the business with confidence that it is releasing products of the highest quality.

- Led the development, testing and delivery of the company’s digital screen platform, one that has since been rolled out to power over 500 screens in 200 retail stores. The system is flexible enough to cater for present and future marketing needs, and has saved the business money by reducing the amount it spends on engineering call-outs, shop-fit design and licensing.

- Tested and scheduled promotional video content to all customer-facing digital screens and transactional kiosks, supporting company brand and marketing strategy in ensuring that the right content was shown on the right devices at the right times. - Created new web sections and published content updates on the UK and EU websites to support marketing campaigns. Proof-read and edited copy for search engine optimisation, making it easier for potential customers to find information online. Technologies: Microsoft SharePoint, HTML

- Managed the re-development, testing and delivery of the company’s external website following remit expansion. - Managed content updates across external website, internal news portal, and Chief Executive’s external blog. - Assisted the Head of Communications and Press Officer in writing statements and features for the national, regional and trade media.
