Über mich
Senior scientist specialised in the analysis of energy demand, costs and CO2 abatement potential of industrial technologies. The new carbon neutrality targets require a clear strategy for the transformation of industry. I want to help companies design their sustainability agenda, identify viable green technologies, and ultimately benefit from the energy transition. Werdegang
Berufserfahrung von Silvia Madeddu
Bis heute 6 Jahre und 2 Monate, seit Apr. 2018
Senior Scientist on Industry Decarbonization
Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research
-> Management of the work stream for validating the decarbonisation pathways of industry. Main tasks: coordinating the work of multiple modelling teams, defining new narratives for industry tranformation to meet climate targets. -> Assessment of the decarbonisation potential and techno-economic feasibility of transformative technologies for industry. Main tasks: estimation of marginal abatement costs, levelized cost of energy (LCOE), emissions accounting, analysis of energy demands.
11 Monate, Feb. 2016 - Dez. 2016
Chief Scientist
Cambridge Carbon Capture Ltd (UK)
-> Management of a multidisciplinary research team and coordination of the experimental work for the optimisation of a chemical process for capturing exhaust CO2. -> Main achievements: maximised sustainability and market potential of the process by reducing the reactants consumed (- 90%) and recovering by-products with high commercial value (silica). Enhanced CO2 capture implementation with a chemical reaction conducted under ambient temperature and pressure.
