I was looking to put my Economics Degree into further use and apply what I learned at University in the field. During my time in the M&A department, I learned a lot about Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Tax Returns and international Structuring. And Excel - a lot of Excel I also learned that Sales / Account Management / Business Development is the right career path for me.
As a Recruitment Consultant in the field of Software Development (mainly Java and .NET), I was working with Swiss IT companies, SMB and select large corporations. My main responsibilities included Business Development (Cold-calling / winning clients), Account Management (Retention & Growth of built up client basis) and also the identification of talent on the job market through inbound (job postings on job boards and social media) and outbound (active sourcing on LinkedIn and Xing) activities.
