It is my job to design the overall detection system for an RxB spectrometer that aims to measure charged decay products from neutron beta decay, which includes position sensitive main detectors as well as backscattering detectors and back detectors. For this purpose, I have been part of a team that has designed and patented a new silicon detector technology that is specialized for detection of low penetrating particles (range <100 nm in silicon).
