ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. With ABB AbilityTM enabled digital solutions at its core, our extensive portfolio includes distribution automation products, switching, limiting, measuring and sensing devices, switchgear, modular substation packages, and related services. The role reports to the Shipping Supervisor and is located in Pinetops, North Carolina. As a Material Handler- Shipping 1st Shift, you will be responsible for ensuring that shipping operations are executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. This is a key position in the Distribution Solutions team. You will commit to follow company policies, procedures and guidelines. The individual will perform a variety of computer based shipping activities. This position also requires forklift certification and the ability to operate various material handling equipment.
Your responsibilities
- Follow all safety and 5S guidelines
- Prepare domestic and export shipments using ERP and Transportation software systems
- Responsible for accurate data entry and processing as per the sales order requirement
- Track & Trace Shipments
- Pull stock to fill customer orders
- Perform accurate inventory counts
- Load and Unload Trucks
- Be a Self-Starter and be willing to cross-train
- Must be dependable
- Communicate clearly
- Flexible to Work Overtime on short notice
- Ability to read and comprehend information
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Physical duties of warehousing: Palletizing product
- Required to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
Your background
- Demonstrated experience working in warehouse or manufacturing environment, if applicable
- SAP knowledge is plus
- Microsoft Office skills a plus
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Basic Computer Skills required
- Valid drivers’ license
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
