SAP ABAP Developer- Cologne

We at Energize have partnered up with Germany's leading home improvement company, who are part of the REWE Group. They operate more than 300 stores nationwide and employ around 18,000 people – 800 of whom work at our headquarters in Cologne.

They are now looking for an SAP ABAP Developer who has experience with BTP to join their team in Cologne for a new S/4HANA Transformation project!

You will:

• Develop backend services and associated front-end components within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), leveraging database-driven architectures.

• Design and implement enhancements to standard SAP Fiori / UI5 applications as part of the S/4HANA transformation journey.

• Translate business and IT requirements into scalable technical solutions, in collaboration with enterprise and solution architects.

• Support our IT product teams in creating a robust microservices architecture around our core platforms, S/4HANA Retail and SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR).

• Take ownership of application operations and ensure ongoing product evolution and improvements.

• Contribute to the implementation of strategic IT initiatives within an agile, cross-functional team environment.

You have:

• A degree in (Business) Informatics or a completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist) with relevant hands-on experience.

• Proven experience in both front-end and back-end development using JavaScript and related Node.js frameworks.

• Ideally, expertise in full-stack development using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) on SAP BTP, including HANA Cloud and UI5.

• Bonus skills include ABAP programming, web service development (OData, REST), and database integration.

• Familiarity with test-driven development and frameworks like Jest, QUnit, or CDS-Test is a plus.

• Fluent German language skills are required.
