Position Description

QIAGEN has an exciting new vacancy for an (Associate) Account Manager in the Greater Göttingen, Hannover, Magdeburg, Halle and Jena area. Our sales team work with customers, primarily within academia, research, biopharma/biotech and diagnostic labs, to facilitate a customer-centric service and provide them with Sample to Insight solutions. We are looking for an (Associate) Account Manager to drive and grow sales across the QIAGEN portfolio, primarily in the expanding Life Science area in the specified territory.

Key responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for the QIAGEN Life Science portfolio in the specified territory

- Establish, expand and maintain good customer relationships through regular visits, telephone calls/video conferences, implementation of marketing plans and sales concepts

- Responsible for the sales budget in the specified territory; analyzing sales figures and implementing action plans to meet budget; reporting relevant figures and developments to sales management

- Project management of sales projects: from lead finding to price negotiation to completion

- Collaboration with application specialists, inside sales, customer care as well as marketing and product management

- Organization and support at seminars and conferences

- Maintenance of customer documentation in the CRM tool (salesforce.com)

Position Requirements

- University degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in a natural science, ideally with a focus on molecular biology

- Sound experience of a wide range of molecular biology techniques such as: DNA and RNA extraction and manipulation, PCR, qPCR, miRNA, next generation sequencing, dPCR

- Experience in sales is an advantage, but not a requirement

- Convincing, confident appearance and presentation skills combined with the ability to communicate at different decision-making levels and build effective relationships

- Fluent in German and English essential

- Space for a home office, driving license and willingness to travel across the territory around 80% of the time
