Bike Citizens wurde als BikeCityGuide 2011 in Graz von den Fahrradkurieren Daniel Kofler und Andreas Stückl gegründet. Mittlerweile beschäftigt das Unternehmen etwa 25 Personen und hat im Februar 2015 eine weitere Niederlassung in Berlin gegründet.

Bike Citizens hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, Radfahren in Städten noch attraktiver zu gestalten und dadurch die Lebensqualität in Städten zu verbessern. Das Unternehmen entwickelt Technologien und Produkte zur Förderung des Radfahrens und bietet eine Plattform für die Community urbanerMenschen, die Rad fahren.

Für Städte, Unternehmen und Organisationen bietet Bike Citizens verlässliche Software-Lösungen sowie ausgeklügelte Kommunikations- und Marketing-Konzepte.

2017 wurde der Firmenname in Bike Citizens Mobile Solutions GmbH geändert. Gleichzeitig wurden neue Produkte entwickelt: Bike Citizens Analytics, das GPS-Datenanalyse-Tool für die Radverkehrsplanung, PING if you care!, das Engagement-Tool mit PING Button für bessere Bürgerbeteiligung in der Infrastrukturplanung, Integration von Fahrradmotivationskampagnen in der App, sowie Bike Benefit Programm, das Belohnungssystem für Menschen, die Rad fahren.

Die Bike Citizens App ist in mehr als 450 Städten erhältlich und bietet Offline-Navigation, Routing & Tracking, Stadt-Touren, Team-Funktionen und ein persönliches Dashboard inklusive Aktivitäts-Statistik & -Darstellung, User-Profil und Newsfeed. Die App wurde mithilfe des Know- H ow von Fahrradkurieren und auf Basis von OpenStreetMap entwickelt.

Außerdem entwickelte Bike Citizens die universelle Smartphone-Halterung Finn, die jedes Smartphone auf jedem Lenker sicher befestigt.

Bike Citizens was founded as BikeCityGuide in Graz in 2011 by the bike messengers Daniel Kofler and Andreas Stückl. Grown to employ of about 25 people Bike Citizens opened another office in Berlin in February 2015.

Bike Citizens aims to make cycling in cities more attractive and to improve the quality of life in cities. The company develops its own cycling-related products and offers a platform to the community of urban cyclists.

The Bike Citizens App is available for more than 450 cities and offers offline navigation, routing, tracking, city tours, team features and a personal dashboard including activity screen, profile and news feed. It was developed with the know-how of bike messengers on the basis of OpenStreetMap.

Bike Citizens also developed the best-selling smartphone mount Finn that reliably fastens any smartphone to any handle bar.

To cities, businesses and organizations wishing to strengthen their sustainable image, Bike Citizens offers reliable software solutions as well as communication and marketing concepts.

In 2017 Bike Citizens finally adapted the company name to Bike Citizens Mobile Solutions GmbH. Along with the new company name there came a lot of new digital services for cities, such as Bike Citizens Analytics, a tool to analyse GPC cycling data; PING if you care!, the engagement tool helping municipalities to get in closer contact with their inhabitants; integration of cycling motivation campaigns into the app, or Bike Benefit System, rewarding people that are riding a bike.
