In 2000, Dr. Ronald Kelpe and Dr. Robert Moore, who founded Rancho Santa Margarita Veterinary Hospital in 1988, made the decision to expand and open a new facility, Santa Margarita Animal Care Center. Today, backed by a professional staff with eight decades of total experience, Dr. Ronald Kelpe continues to direct Santa Margarita Animal Care Center. Dr. Kelpe is a graduate of Iowa State University, from which he earned his veterinary degree in 1984. His areas of medical interest include surgery, cardiology, and ophthalmology. Dr. Robert Moore, a graduate of Auburn University, is board certified in surgery. Other veterinarians at Santa Margarita Animal Care Center include Dr. Lisa Maillard (whose interests include dermatology, radiology, and internal medicine), Dr. Jennifer Davis (small animal medicine, diagnostic imaging and internal medicine), and Dr. Kim McKee (geriatrics, dentistry, and laser surgery).
With this diverse array of interests, Santa Margarita Animal Care Center’s staff is able to address a variety of needs for an equally diverse array of animals. The veterinarians are able to care for reptiles, rabbits, and even small farm animals in addition to cats and dogs. Besides general check-ups, routine surgical procedures, diagnostics, and vaccinations, Santa Margarita Animal Care Center also provides emergency and urgent care during normal hours of operation.
Santa Margarita Animal Care Center is open seven days a week. The hospital is open from 7:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday, and 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday. To learn more about the hospital and its doctors, visit RSMAnimalCare.com.
