Von Weiss Dermatology Center, owned by Dr. Hans von Weiss, offers complete dermatology care for community members in the North Shore area of Massachusetts. The practice is built on a tradition of excellence in healthcare established by Dr. Hans von Weiss’ father, Dr. John von Weiss. Dr. John von Weiss founded Von Weiss Dermatology Center with the experience he gained in the field of dermatology. He graduated from medical school at the University of Oregon in 1956 and then performed a year-long internship at Highland Hospital-Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland, California. After serving a five-year term of service in the U.S. Army, Dr. von Weiss attended additional training courses in Germany and Austria. He then joined the Boston City Hospital and then the Dermatology Department of the Lahey Clinic in Boston., Dr. von Weiss also maintains a strong relationship with the Tufts University School of Medicine, where he previously taught, and has been a visiting practitioner since 1972. That same year, he also opened his private practice, which is now Von Weiss Dermatology Center. Dr. von Weiss’s goal of providing excellent, accessible dermatology care has been embraced and promoted by his son, Dr. Hans von Weiss. Assuming the position of primary physician for Von Weiss Dermatology Center in 1998, Dr. Hans Von Weiss has fostered and developed the tradition established by his father. After graduating in 1990 from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Hans Von Weiss held a year-long internship at Pontiac General Hospital & Medical Center in Pontiac, Michigan. He then worked as a full-time dermatologist at Freeport Clinic and Athens Dermatology Center before returning to his father’s practice in 1998. In 2004, Dr. Jeannie Chung joined Von Weiss Dermatology Center, and contributes her expertise as a plastic surgeon. Two other staff members complete the team: Elizabeth “Lisa” Crawford, a Nurse Practitioner, who came to Von Weiss Dermatology Center in 2009, and Heidi Sauer, a Physician’s Assistant, who joined in February 2011.
