    Master's Thesis

    Ghent University

    – Python based design, simulation, fabrication of process-variability tolerant ultra-low loss SOI optical couplers for 1550/1300nm Photonic Reservoir chip, achieving transmission efficiency improvement from 74% to 99%. – Improved complex-valued python numerical model for Photonic Reservoir for BPSK, PAM, QAM modulations.

    NDF Special Light Products

    – Learned to strategize an evolutionary, modular product-platform approach for displays. – Setup of three measurement systems for colorimetric characterization of display panels 5” to 90”. – Suggested points to improve display mounting frame designs for ease of loading, mobility and integrating with the characterization setups in single mount, helped to reduce development, characterization cost & time. – Collaborated with people from departments of R&D, manufacturing, finance for guidance and feedback.

     Terahertz pulse generation in DSTMS crystals – Process engineering for synthesis of DSTMS through planned process flow, design-of-experiment, NMR characterization & analysis, optimization, purification in a chemistry lab environment.  Diffraction accounted mathematical modelling of Gaussian beam spots – Mathematica based modelling, analysis which provided 7% better intensity profile over traditional Gaussian.

    Bachelor's Thesis

    – Demonstrated freespace OOK VLC system for ≈ 1kB image, text, video transfer at 120bps and ≈ 1.5m apart. – Responsibility of programming microcontroller with embedded C; interfacing system with Visual Basic; data processing with MATLAB algorithms for thesis project in a group of 4. – Responsibility of designing, implementation Tx–Rx circuit & PCB for computer-interfaced embedded system with 8051 microcontroller, regulator, comparator, LED, photodiode, USB-TTL adapter.
