    The goal of my current research is to apply findings from the fields of computational intelligence such as to improve the finite element method. The Finite element method usually approximates the field and state variables through polynomial or spline functions and often complex material formulations. By training neural networks to represent these functional relationships, the finite element method can be improved.

    Carried out analysis of Brinells Hardness test,in which hard ball of diameter was penetrated under certain load into the planar surface and simulation was implemented in FEM packages,ANSYS and ABAQUS. Obtained the relationship between reaction force and indenter reference point using contact mechanics approach. Also,simulated crack initiation in a material and its growth with XFEM method and VCCT for double notch tensile specimen.
