I have joined Avaloq as an architect to continue the work I have been involved in for the last two years as an external contractor. I lead a team that builds and maintains a javascript-based UI framework used across all the web-based products Avaloq sells. My responsibilities as an architect are to lead the framework team; unify the requirements of the many products that integrate the framework; continuously improve the performance and portability of the browser code.

I was a team-lead and a JavaScript/AngularJS/Java software engineer to build up a UI/UX framewok for core banking software products made by Avaloq Evolution AG. The framework is a complete solution for building AngularJS modules. My responsibility evolved from that of an engineer to team-lead am the Scrum master, to making many design and architecture decisions. I also took an active role in introducing the agile process to the environment.

I was one of a team of two developers responsible for building a new trading system . The software supported all aspects of the commodity trading process: from contract information, to pricing and hedging, to P&L monitoring, to invoicing. Furthermore I helped establish of processes and best practices centered on agile practices and continuous integration/delivery methodologies with an objective to automate building, testing, and deployment of software.

I worked with a distributed team on a core business insurance system. My work focused on functionality and performance improvements on the server side.

Product Owner and Analyst of a financial instrument reference-data system used throughout IMC, with over 20 servers in 5 global locations. In this role I work closely with developers, business users, and operational technicians.

In my previous role at IMC Trading I conceived, designed, implemented, and maintained a financial instrument reference-data system used by one business group at IMC. In my 5 years at UBS I belonged to 2 different departments. Foreign Exchange(FX) (2001-2003) and Group Compensation & Benefits (GCB) (2003-2006). Within FX, I worked on many trading application projects. The GCB applications comprised one system that managed employee benefits within more than 100 different types of investment plans for over 40,000 employees.

I was a consultant for Railinc, a North American rail transport infrastructure company. The project was to create a web application to port an EDI system for small rail transport clients who did not have the IT infrastructure to implement an EDI communication system.

Hartco was a store-based and web-based consumer electronics retail franchiser. I worked on their e-commerce applications, a shopping-cart style web site (Compusmart) and an intranet web site for a chain of business-to-business stores (MicroAge) that provided customized portals for business clients.

I worked for the payroll service the National Bank offered to its corporate customers. I worked with a front-office application that provided a full payroll service (data entry, processing, payslip mailing, reporting, etc.) for some 5000 medium-to-large businesses across Canada.

Binex provided creation and hosting solutions for web-sites. I joined the company as an intern, and was hired as a full time employee upon graduating from MultiHexa. I contributed to all functions related to operations and web creation. I maintained web servers, LAN, and DB servers. In addition, as a web-integrator, I assembled graphics, and server-side and client-side technologies.
