He is responsible for the energy business, product sales, business & corporate development and M&A. Florian worked 15 years for RWE in various roles. He was CEO|Managing Director of the Silicon Valley innovation entity. This included leading strategic US investment and innovation. He helped incubate internal start-ups and is founder of Free Electrons (global utilities accelerator). Florian led a multi-billion USD result improvement program, was Managing Director of the Dutch services business and delivered M&A transaction worth more than 10bn USD.

This role was mainly driven by substantial restructuring and cost reduction efforts (cost reduction of 38% and FTE reduction of 47%), operational efficiency and change programs, outsourcing of non-core activities and migration of local SAP systems to group-wide SAP platforms. Florian was responsible for all accounting, procurement, HR service, infrastructure and service management functions.

This included the preparation of all required actions to realize integration and synergy targets, the merger of the existing Dutch RWE activities into Essent, the development and delivery of organizational blueprints, integration actions and assessment of financial implications.
