Florian is a senior executive and has extensive professional experience in the European energy and Silicon Valley tech industry. Florian is currently Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager Energy of Intertrust Technologies, a Silicon Valley-based energy data security scaleup. Intertrust is owned by a consortium of large energy companies (E.ON, JERA, Origin Energy), a 2bn USD financial tech investor and additional corporates. He is responsible for the energy business, product sales, business & corporate development and M&A. Florian worked 15 years for RWE in various roles. He was CEO|Managing Director of the Silicon Valley innovation entity. This included leading strategic US investment and innovation. He helped incubate internal start-ups and is founder of Free Electrons (global utilities accelerator). Florian led a multi-billion USD result improvement program, was Managing Director of the Dutch services business and delivered M&A transaction worth more than 10bn USD.

    Florian was appointed in 2013 by the Executive Board of RWE AG to manage the 2.5bn+ USD group-wide transformation and result improvement program. He was responsible for the overall program management of all major central and decentral transformation and efficiency initiatives of the RWE Group, reporting directly to the Executive Board of RWE AG (CEO and CFO). Florian was also co-leading the design of a comprehensive lean program for the entire RWE organization touching around 45.000 employees.

    Florian ran and restructured RWE's Benelux shared support and services company (EUR 60m revenues, 250 FTE). This role was mainly driven by substantial restructuring and cost reduction efforts (cost reduction of 38% and FTE reduction of 47%), operational efficiency and change programs, outsourcing of non-core activities and migration of local SAP systems to group-wide SAP platforms. Florian was responsible for all accounting, procurement, HR service, infrastructure and service management functions.

    Florian was responsible for the post-merger integration of the 7bn+ USD cross-border acquisition of Essent (Netherlands, Belgium) by RWE AG. Essent is the biggest utility company in the Netherlands and employed around 6.000 people. This included the preparation of all required actions to realize integration and synergy targets, the merger of the existing Dutch RWE activities into Essent, the development and delivery of organizational blueprints, integration actions and assessment of financial implications.
