My job consisted in solving installation problems of components before the assembly day. The solution varied from relocating the affected components, creation of new parts (brackets) to facilitate the installation, or new assembly methods; some of these activities involved the use of CAD tools (Unigraphics NX6) for editing/creating part numbers, assembly drawings and/or installation drawings. The exercise of these activities required communication with suppliers, purchase department and/or engineers.
