€1.5 Bn Division of Siemens Industrial Sector manufacturing high volume products (many Mns pcs p/a) of Electronic Inverter Drives + Motors + Geared-Motors across 8 factories worldwide. High levels of technical and application competences for sales at a complex system level, targeting a large number of different segments of a global market. Reporting directly into General Motion Control Board – Divisional HQ Germany, circa 45 direct heads spread across 4 global hubs interfacing with 50+ countries.
The objective was to take an existing international Customer Services team based primarily within a UK Business Unit and transform and integrate it into an HQ Divisional world-wide concept. Core goals of the restructuring were to support a growth in sales, a broadening of product portfolio and complexity whilst driving a reduction in quality (warranty) costs.
Responsible for Business Development and Product-Stream Management of the Inverter-Drive products cluster running across an international matrix framework of product management, research & development teams, manufacturing plants and involving many business units located in Germany, UK and China. As member of a UK Process Management Operating Board, I held the role of Core Team leader for driving Business Excellence and Improvement initiatives in association with Siemens Management Consultants.
Member of the site Process Management Board responsible for the process of “Product-Stream” Project Management. Goals were a reducing of time to market, achieving on time sales release and the meeting of budget, sales volume and profitability targets. Core Team member for driving Business Improvement initiatives incorporating Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Investors in People, ISO14001 and Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) with competitor Benchmarking.
