My key responsibilities included managing operational, financial and SOX audits across the JTI group (global geographical footprint) in order to provide JTI and JT senior management with an independent, objective and value-added evaluation of the internal control environment, risk management and governance processes.

I was primarily responsible for managing financial and outsourced internal audit engagements for large multinational and local clients for various locations and industries in the Balkan cluster (Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Albania and Kosovo).

I was a minority equity partner (10% ownership) of a medium sized Romanian accounting and audit company. Responsible for Financial and Internal Audit, concentrating on delivering high quality services to BG Conta’s clients, expanding the services provided, recruiting, and developing the core teams.

Enhance working knowledge in accounts preparation and statutory reporting, group accounting, financial auditing and SOX testing. Gained exposure to a wide range of business sectors and sizes (e.g. manufacturing, telecom, construction, FMCG, agriculture, services etc.). I also had my first exposure to leading small teams (2-3 people).

I have performed various part-time one-year contract jobs in order to financially support my university studies. The experience gained was crucial to my future roles as I have learned how to be customer-oriented, how to prioritize tasks and work as a team member.
