While travelling in Australia and Europe (recently returned to Germany), I have been working on scientific publications in cooperation with the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), RWTH Aachen and Tohoku University, Japan on - Normal spectral emissivity and heat capacity at constant pressure of liquid Al-Ti alloys - Surface tension of liquid Ti under the influence of oxygen and new thermodynamic modelling - Surface tension and viscosity of Al50Ti50 obtained in microgravity during parabolic flight

Reconstruction of electromagnetic levitation (EML) facilities used as reference models for the International Space Station (ISS) Measurements on thermophysical properties of liquid metals under controlled oxygen partial pressure Extensive laboratory work, sample preparation, use of various technical equipment Computational modelling for materials property predictions Involvement in two DLR parabolic flight campaigns for experiments in microgravity

Scholarship by the Interdepartmental Doctoral Degree Program for Multidimensional Materials Science Leaders (MD Program) from the Graduate School of Engineering to conduct experiments at the Fukuyama lab, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan.

Geochemical analysis of drill cores taken from Lake Baikal as a basis for past climate changes research.
