Josef Stepina

When I studied taxation and tax policy at the University of Economics and Business in Prague I discovered how fascinating taxes are from the point of view of public finance and also of individuals and companies and I knew that is what I was going to do one day. After my studies, I worked as a VAT consultant at PwC CZ where I had an opportunity to work with a whole range of topics and get a holistic view of how companies work. I was also leveraging my enthusiasm for technology and I was involved in Tax Reporting automation projects. From January to June 2022, I was seconded to the Technology, Process, and Control team at PwC Berlin, where I was involved in ERP-system VAT set-up reviews, giving me the opportunity to further integrate both tax and technology. Now I work as a Tax Consultant in Lidl CR where I am broadening my tax knowledge and gaining experience in many tax topics in the retail industry, as well as looking for opportunities to simplify and automate tax processes.
