I founded The Compass Group in early 1998. I built it from a firm of just me to its current 27 employees. I was the Managing Director of The Compass Group. Responsible for all the investment decisions, personnel decisions, etc. The Compass Group had two clients - Anholt Investments, the investment arm of a large philanthropic foundation and Compass Diversified Holdings (NYSE: CODI), which we created and took public in 2006. CODI was 100% my idea.
