Proficient in manual and automated analysis of peripheral blood, bone marrow, and clinical trial specimens for the purpose of diagnostics of multiple types of cancer including lymphomas, leukemias, and tissue-related cancers; Rotated within the tissue culture, chromosome, and FISH wet labs as needed; Often prepared SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for lab protocols; Collaborated with fellow employees on large projects and test validations.

Experience involving operation of metaphase harvester, set up of peripheral blood, bone marrow, and core biopsy samples, preparation of reagents such as culture media, heparin wash, and conditioned media in tissue culture; Performed hybridization and post wash of samples in the FISH wet lab; Dropped chromosome and FISH slides, GTG banded chromosome slides, and operated GSL machines in chromosome lab.

Worked in tissue culture and prepared short-term cultures of peripheral blood and bone marrow for cytogenetic and FISH analysis; Maintained QC and QA of assigned incubators, chemical fume hoods, centrifuges, water baths, pipettes, and eye-wash stations; Successfully maintained a fast-paced work ethic which required high levels of focus and attention on a daily basis; First person to arrive in the morning so responsible for all lab functions until Supervisor arrived.
