Research on the development of a rechargeable 3 V magnesium battery. We investigated and characterised electrolytes, cathode and anode materials for a reversible magnesium ion cell. One PhD and one master student were supervised in this project, which was a consortium with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT Mobility Department), the Light Metals Competence Center Ranshofen GmbH, AVL List GmbH, VARTA Micro Innovations GmbH and the TU Graz.

Investigation of nanostructured materials for electrochemical applications. We focus on the development of new materials based on molybdenum and tungsten sulfides and oxides. This is an interchange program funded by the Brazilian foundation for the development of science (CNPQ).

Two industrial projects concerning ionic liquids: electroplating of aluminium and investigations of anodic reactions. These projects had BASF, EADS, Akzo-Nobel, Andritz AG and Atotech GmbH as industrial partners.
