Responsible for Atlanta Site ASIC/FPGA development and Budget and harmonization of the 7 ADVA sites Globally doing FPGA/ASIC design to provide a uniform way of working. From Tool Selection & Budget to Design Methodology. The group I lead is able to leverage our quick turn development ability, RTL coding expertise, & broad IP portfolio to tackle a very wide variety of product concepts. This has resulted in numerous design wins & subsequently customer wins as well as dramatic cost reductions.

As a director I have been responsible for a > $2 Million budget, and now lead & manage a design team that has varied from 4 to 14 people to deliver multiple projects while developing and building Intellectual Property designs. I oversee all the FPGA/ASIC & CPLD development on all of Movaz’s products. This represents well over 60 functionally different cards & well over 100 significant IP blocks. This IP development has come to represent a critical component in Movaz Networks ability to compete & over 5+yrs.

Budget, Personnel, & Functionality oversight & review of the IT Department, Specifically with regard to the Unix/Linux side of the network and the needs of engineering but with an eye toward insuring the right approach is being taken by the experienced IT personnel toward improving performance, capability, & functionality of every aspect of IT within the company.

Co-operative Program. Worked on movning boards of discrete logic to Actel 1080 FPGAs, DSP pulse generator concept, Chose Power supplies for the First Video Scrambler, LEDs for initial video settops, etc.
