    Beyond his professional career, Michael de Picciotto is active in the philanthropic sphere. He established the de Picciotto-Lesser Cancer Cell Observatory in Memory of Wolfgang and Ruth Lesser at the Moross Integrated Cancer Centre of the Weizmann Institute of Science. With profound implications for life-saving research, this technology has a revolutionary potential for better understanding how cancer cells behave. The observatory is named after his maternal grandparents to honour their lives and memory.

This was the start of an extensive career, over which he gained a reputation as an innovative banker and cemented this reputation among Institutional Investors as well as Ultra High Net Worth families. He arrived at Engel and Volkers at a time of rapid expansion.
