Master Thesis

Production and characterisation of a "Dye Doped Polymer Optical Fibre Laser". I presented a detailed study on the laser characteristics, output energy, spectral analysis, photo-degradation, and polarisation measurements of four solid-state organic dye-doped step-index multimode POFs laser under different variables such as dye type and concentration, out-coupling mirror reflectivity, and fibre length. I designed and prototyped a suitable experimental setup to investigate and develop this type of laser.
1. Development Optical Components. 2. Basic Development Laser Cutting. 3. Processing Optics. It enabled me to gain further knowledge and industrial experience in the domains of manufacturing machinery, laser technology, and electronics. I performed research on the online market for required components or parts to build and equip a new "Messbox Optic" to perform optical measurements. I got knowledge of two "Clean Rooms" that have been used for maintenance purposes of defective or inoperative cutting units.
Objective: "Investigating the characteristics of the NUV-NIR spectra due to the interactions between atmospheric-pressure thermal plasma and gas mixtures with optical emission spectroscopy". This project was to qualitatively detect and identify the atoms, ions, and molecules resulting from these interactions with optical emission spectroscopy. This project has helped the Institute for Materials Science at Leibniz University Hannover to receive a state investment to buy a better spectroscope.

Master Thesis: "Design, Prototype, and Validation of a Mid IR Spectrometer"

This master thesis introduced the concept behind dispersive MIR spectroscopy. It covered both the basic theory and how it works as well as discussed some of the practical aspects of the MIR spectrometer used. I designed, prototyped, and validated an appropriate experimental setup for a MIR spectrometer to detect different materials (especially Glucose and Ethanol) in blood samples. This thesis has helped the company J&M Analytik to build, develop, and sell this type of spectrometer.

I did scientific theoretical research on FSOC. This project presented an analysis of the propagation of optical signals in free space. The first part presented a short introduction about FSOC, its advantages and disadvantages, and gave a short comparison between FSOC systems and RF systems. The second part provided the study of the FSOC link in terms of Link Budget, Power Budget, Link Margin (Power Margin), Effect of Atmosphere on the FSOC link, and Reliability and performance of the FSOC link.

This bachelor thesis validated the transmitter and the receiver of an Optical Communication System. It presented an introduction to optical communication and several aspects of optical fibres. It mentioned different modulation techniques used in optical communication systems. It discussed the components and the working principle of the electronic circuits of an Optical Communication System It provided a demonstration of the prototype.
