• Designed and managed migration of all corporate data from Novell to new Microsoft AD • Rationalised Windows 7 build from 6 language variants down to 1 with 6 language packs. • Wrote Group Policies to control W7 GUI languages and keyboards across 6 countries. • Designed DFS structure with Access-based enumeration to accommodate migration from Novell environment • Designed interface between Cisco VoIP system and Vetropack’s AD. • Mentored Novell staff and assisted Vetroconsult IT management

• IT architect designer in short but complex project to design, document and deliver method of merging the IT systems of DACH into the main body of IT systems of the Selecta Group. Management changes directly affected the delivery of this project but the design and methodology was completed and fully documented. Other significant rectification activities across the whole of the European IT infrastructure.

• Head architect in complex project to design and document from scratch a new Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 AD infrastructure. Design completed December 2010.

Microsoft Systems Architect and Designer specialising in new products, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Microsoft Hyper-V. • Co-architect in complex project to split server infrastructure into 2 domains following sale of ABN Amro bank to two different organisations, migration of all servers, users and data. • Designed IBM’s Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization service offering. • Designed and gave 4 internal training courses on Active Directory to IBM engineers.

• Managed a small team (4-6) and project to test new releases of MS set-top box for IPTV, using MERCURY Test Director at Bluewin TV. • Undertook a project to analyse all operational aspects of IPTV and define and author all operational documentation for Alcatel-Lucent's Microsoft IPTV customers, to ITIL principles, including version control, producing all documents to a consistently high-quality standard.

• Selected for this position to implement and support Microsoft's IPTV service for Bluewin and Alcatel IPTV customers. MS IPTV utilises large backend farms of Windows 2003 servers to stream 200+ live television channels to 100'000+ customers. Bluewin product successfully launched in Switzerland November 2006. • Successfully provided 4th line support during installation and ongoing operational support troubleshooting in (80+) server farms liaising with both Microsoft and customers.

• Selected to handle the design of the global XP client build, following implementation of single global IT infrastructure. Rationalised 2000 applications to 400. • Developed and put in place (previously missing!) processes to manage the rollout of the XP build to 200 offices in Switzerland, managed a small team.

• Appointed to implement a single domain, consolidated IT infrastructure following a host of European acquisitions, for the world’s largest edible oil manufacturer with over 30,000 users. • Developed and put in place systematic processes for the migration of all European subsidiaries, users, servers and data to the new infrastructure. • Chief Technical Active Directory Architect for Europe, successfully designed the Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, delegation and migration processes for Switzerland,

• Led a project team of 4 engineers/packagers. • Managed the project to produce the Active Directory design, and the engineering and design of a Windows XP build for 400 users. Effectively liaised with internal departments and management to deliver and implement OU structure. Authored shell scripts to assist with the data migration during the rollout phase. • Designed single Windows XP client build, ensuring universal configuration to reduce maintenance costs reducing from over 20 builds to 1.

• Managed the installation and migration of users on all servers throughout Europe for Windows 2000 server/Windows XP client solution project rolled out to 25,000 users. • Successfully migrating users on Windows NT4 based system to the new XP system and effectively liaised with and mentored local teams installing the server infrastructures. • Created scripts to automate migration of user data, liaised with local team to ensure seamless migration.
